No. 3-ranked Riverside City College battled through to a 15-14 victory over Sierra College to open the Delta Women's Invitational Friday morning before posting a 19-13 victory over the host San Joaquin Delta.
The Tigers now sit 17-1 on the year and extend their winning streak to 11 consecutive games.
Against the Wolverines, Yosra Elseifi led RCC with five goals and four assists. Nicole Robertson and Chandler Burrell added three goals apiece, while Samantha Thomas scored twice and Annabella Storar and Presley Burrell also capitalized.
It was evenly matched through the first two quarters before Thomas put the Tigers up by one (11-10) heading into the final eight minutes.
Chandler Burrell upped the cushion to two before Sierra scored three consecutive goals to make things interesting as the Wolverines took the lead halfway through the quarter.
Chandler Burrell evened things up with just over three minutes remaining before Elseifi and Presley Burrell scored back-to-back to give RCC a two-goal lead.
Sierra managed to score with 28 seconds left in the game, but it wasn't enough to overcome Riverside.
In the nightcap, Elseifi once again led the Tigers after posting six goals, two assists and five steals. Chandler Burrell added four goals, while Abigail Ruiz chipped in another three. Robertson and Storar each scored twice, while Kaia Boone and Thomas also got in on the scoring action.
