Women Water Poloists Remain Undefeated with a 14-7 Conference Win at Orange Coast
COSTA MESA -- The Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's water polo squad remained undefeated with a 14-7 Orange Empire Conference (OEC) win over the host Orange Coast College (OCC) Pirates Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 1).
Riverside (11-0 overall, 3-0 OEC), the 2013 state tournament runner-up, opened it up in the second quarter.
Sophomore Nikki Bell (Riverside / M.L. King '13), who is pictured, again led the way for the Tigers with seven goals and sophomore Alia McMorris (Riverside / M.L. King '13) and frosh center Kalawna Ray (Murrieta / Vista Murrieta '14), respectively, added three and two goals.
Freshman goalkeeper Kayla Chang (Kahuku, Oahu, HI '13) played the first three quarters in the cage and recorded nine saves (four goals) and also added an assist.
The Tigers will play the Foothill College Owls tomorrow evening, Thursday, Oct. 2, at Cuesta College before competing the Cuesta Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 3-4.
