
Tigers Improve to 4-0 with another Pair of Victories at American River Tournament
SACRAMENTO -- Adding another pair of impressive victories from Saturday's (Sept. 13) action at the American River College (ARC) Tournament, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's water polo squad improved to 4-0.
In Saturday's first game for RCC, the Tigers took control early against the Fresno City College (FCC) Rams with a 7-2 halftime lead. In the second half, the Tigers extended their lead to 13-2 at the end of the 3rd quarter and won with a final score of 14-5. The Tigers were led by sophomore Nikki Bell with five goals and sophomore Alia McMorris and freshman Kelley Geurts each added 2 goals.
In its second game of the day, RCC took on Santa Rosa Junior College. The Tigers scored 10 goals in the first 11 minutes and cruised to a 20-4 victory. Sophomores Alia McMorris and Nikki Bell had five and four goals respectively. In all, 11 different Tigers scored in the game.
RCC will be idle until Wednesday, Sept. 17, when it hosts the Saddleback College Gauchos in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) for both at the Riverside Aquatic Center on the RCC campus. First sprint time is 4 p.m.
