
Tigers Grab Multiple Postseason Honors
After winning a second-straight Orange Empire Conference Championship and a third-place finish at the 3C2A State Championship, Riverside City College's women's water polo team grabbed multiple postseason honors.
Doug Finfrock was named the OEC Coach of the Year after leading the Tigers to a perfect 7-0 conference record and dominating the OEC Tournament. RCC outscored its opponents 49-21 in the tournament to easily defend its title from 2023 and gain momentum into the regionals. The Tigers then finished with a 31-5 record.
Yosra Elseifi grabbed multiple honors after leading the Tigers with 138 goals on the year. The freshman attacker was named OEC Co-MVP with Saddleback College's Holliss Munchoff, first-team All-SoCal, All-American, and first-team All-State. Elseifi's 138 goals ranked second in the state, while her 171 points on the season sat fourth overall after she added 33 assists on the year.
Chandler Burrell grabbed first-team all-conference, first-team All-SoCal, and All-American honors after finishing the year with 53 goals, 50 assists and 55 steals. She also drew a team-high 41 ejections and had three field blocks.
Nicole Robertson picked up first-team all-conference, second-team All-SoCal, and All-American recognition after leading the Tigers with 73 steals on the year. She also scored 53 goals and assisted 36 times. Defensively, the sophomore had 15 field blocks and drew nine exclusions.
Annabella Storar finished the year with 32 goals and a team-high 64 assists to earn herself first-team all-conference, first-team All-SoCal and All-American distinctions. She also grabbed 61 steals and drew 23 ejections for RCC.
Abigail Ruiz grabbed second-team all-conference and first-team All-State honors after sitting second on the team with 56 goals. She also added 26 assists and 32 steals.
Sofia Mather came up big on multiple occasions in the cage for the Tigers to earn second-team all-conference and second-team All-SoCal recognition. The sophomore goalie finished the year with 150 saves and an 18-4 record. She also dished out 24 assists and grabbed 23 steals.
Presley Burrell rounded out the postseason honors by being named to the All-State second team. She finished the year with nine goals, 44 assists and 35 steals. She scored twice and assisted twice in the Tigers' 19-18 double overtime victory to take third at the State Tournament.
