RCC Sends Two Doubles Teams to 3C2A Semifinals
Riverside City College has two doubles teams still battling for the 3C2A State Championship.
Lance Lao and Michael Chang advanced to the semifinals with a 6-3, 6-4 victory. They will face Foothill College's Keisuke Ariga/ Abdala Quintero at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, vying for a spot in the championship bout.
Augustin Daubannay and Ronith Sreeram also secured their spot in the semifinals after defeating their opponents Adam Ridaoui and David Tinajero from Glendale College 6-4, 6-4. They will face Irvine Valley College's Luciano Pardo and Nick Grove, looking for redemption for their fellow Tigers.
Giovanne Recchia and Charalampos Plataniotis fell 6-2, 6-1 in their quarterfinals match to Pardo/Grove.
The 3C2A State Championship is set for Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
