Tigers Close Out OEC Perfectly

Riverside City College closed out the regular season with a 9-0 victory over Orange Coast College Tuesday afternoon.

The Tigers – who wrapped up the conference championship last week – improve to 14-4 overall and finish Orange Empire Conference action with a perfect 8-0 mark.

RCC made quick work of doubles action with sophomores Lance Lao and Michael Chang defeating their opponent 8-3 to help the Tigers jump out to a 3-0 lead.

Chang (6-3, 6-1) and Lao (6-1, 6-2) then grabbed two-set victories in their singles matches, while Giovanne Recchia didn't allow a single point from his opponent.

RCC shifts its focus to postseason with the OEC Championship Tournament on Thursday.
