Riverside Comes Up Just Short Against Glendale

Riverside City College came up just short in a 5-4 loss on the road at Glendale College Thursday afternoon.

The Tigers slip to 11-4 on the year, while the Vaqueros improve to 10-3 overall.

Lance Lao and Michael Chang grabbed an 8-5 doubles win, while Giovanne Recchia and Charalampos Plataniotis also won their doubles contest 8-3 to put RCC up 2-1 early.

Augustin Daubannay (6-2, 7-5) and Plataniotis (6-2, 6-1) each won their singles matches, but it wasn't enough to overcome Glendale as the Vaqueros took four of the six singles contests.

RCC continues on the road for its next two matches, heading to Saddleback College on Tuesday for a 2 p.m. match. The Tigers are back at home to close out the regular season on April 1, hosting Orange Coast College at 2 p.m.
