Tigers Start New Year Victorious

Riverside City College opened the 2025 season with a bang, defeating San Diego City College 8-1 at home Thursday afternoon.

The Tigers start the year with a 1-0 mark, while the Knights begin at 0-1.

RCC swept doubles action with Giovanne Recchia and Charalampos Plataniotis grabbing an 8-1 victory in their matchup, while Michael Chang/Lance Lao and Ronith Sreeram/Augustin Daubannay each defeated their opponents 8-4.

In singles action, Chang and Plataniotis swept their opponents 6-0, 6-0 to help the Tigers pick up the dominating win.

RCC looks to build on momentum as it heads to Cal Lutheran on Saturday for an 11 a.m. match.
