Tigers Make Quick Work in First-Round Regional Win

Riverside City College made quick work of Bakersfield College in the first round of the 3C2A SoCal Regional, grabbing a 5-0 win in clinch format.

The Tigers improve to 15-4 on the year, while the Renegades end the year at 2-10.

Giovanne Recchia and Charalampos Plataniotis dominated their doubles match 8-0 to help RCC jump out to a quick 3-0 lead. Lance Lao/Michael Chang and Ronith Sreeram/Augustin Daubannay also won their doubles matches.

Recchia then grabbed a 6-1, 6-0 singles victory before Plataniotis sealed the victory for Riverside with a 6-0, 6-1 win.

The Tigers will face the top seed Bakersfield College on Tuesday, looking for a spot in Friday's regional championship game.
