
RCC Bounces Back With Victory over OCC

No. 12-ranked Riverside City College bounced back with a 5-2 victory over Orange Coast College on the road Thursday afternoon.
The Tigers improve to 22-11 overall and 9-5 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Pirates fall to 10-23 on the year, 4-10 in conference.
In the top of the second, Darin Osterloh (3-for-4) and Parker Sobiesiak (2-for-4) hit back-to-back RBI singles to put RCC on the board first with a 2-0 lead.
The Tigers added another set of back-to-back RBI singles in the fifth, this time from Ian Nguyen (1-for-4) and Danny Inzunza (1-for-3) to up Riverside's lead to 4-0.
OCC scored its first run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning to make it 4-1, before the Pirates made it a two-run game with a home run in the eighth, 4-2.
Logan Clear hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth to give RCC some cushion, 5-2.
Evan Stratton then closed out the game in the bottom half of the inning to seal the victory and earn his second save of the year. Jorge Rodriguez had an impressive outing for the Tigers after going seven innings and striking out seven to earn the win.
RCC looks to take the three-game series against OCC at Evans Sports Complex on Friday as the Pirates return to Riverside.
