
Tigers Shut Out Lasers to Close Out Series

No. 12-ranked Riverside City College takes the three-game series against Irvine Valley College after shutting out the visitors in a 7-0 victory Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers improve to 25-12 overall and 12-6 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Lasers fall to 16-21 on the year, 3-15 in conference.
RCC scored early off an RBI double from Parker Sobiesiak (2-for-4) to get a 1-0 lead in its first chance at the plate.
Marcus Moyer (2-for-4) upped the Tigers' lead to 2-0 in the fourth with an RBI single before drilling the first home run of the season at Evans Sports Complex for Riverside in the bottom of the sixth, 5-0.
Marc DiCarlo Jr. hit an RBI groundout while Sobiesiak followed up with another RBI double to extend the Tigers' lead to seven, 7-0.
Jake Valenzuela was on the mound for Riverside and had a great outing, striking out 10 batters through seven innings.
The Tigers look to keep momentum going into the last conference series of the season as they take on No. 6-ranked Santa Ana College with second place in the OEC on the line. RCC is on the road Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Dons, before returning home on Thursday for its regular-season finale at 2 p.m.
