
Tigers Take Back Game from Huskies
Riverside City College bounced back with a 10-7 victory on the road at East Los Angeles College Saturday evening.
The Tigers improve to 4-1 on the year, while the Huskies drop to 2-3 overall.
Seven Tigers had hits in the game as Riverside posted 13 in the game. Bubba Heidler led RCC with a 3-for-6 showing at the plate, while Marc DiCarlo Jr., Alex Gamex (2-for-4) and Ian Nguyen (2-for-5) also had multiple hits on the day.
Riverside didn't waste any time and scored two runs in their first chance at the plate on a two-out rally. With runners on first and second, DiCarlo, Jr. singled to center field to score one before David Nelson doubled to give the second run the green light to come home, 2-0.
ELAC responded with a run in the bottom of the first, but the Tigers tacked on another two in the second off a sacrifice from Logan Clear and an RBI single from Gamez.
The Huskies kept things close with two runs in the third, but the Tigers kept creating distance and plated three runs in the fourth to up their lead to four, 7-3.
Heidler put the final dagger in place with a solo home run to left field in the top of the seventh to secure the 10-7 victory for RCC.
Riverside returns home to host Barstow on Thursday for a 2 p.m. contest.
