Tigers Drop OEC Opener with Hornets
Riverside City College struck first but couldn't hold on in a 5-2 loss on the road at Fullerton College on Tuesday.
The Tigers drop to 10-19 overall, 3-7 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Hornets improve to 11-15 on the year, 5-5 in conference.
Jocelyn Romero led the Tigers with a 2-for-4 performance at the plate, while Rebeca Razo (1-for-3) and Alysse Flores (1-for-3) also had hits for Riverside.
In the top of the first, with two outs and two runners on, RCC took advantage of a Fullerton error to score both runners to take an early 2-0 lead.
The Hornets answered back with three runs in the second to take the lead and added some insurance in the fourth before locking down defensively to secure the 5-2 victory.
Riverside looks to bounce back at home as the Hornets come to the Tigers' field on Thursday. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
