Riverside City College did its best but couldn't hold back No. 1-ranked Fullerton College in an 11-1 loss Tuesday afternoon.
The Tigers drop to 11-24 on the year, 3-13 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Hornets improve to 30-3 overall and remain undefeated in conference at 16-0.
Riverside had eight hits in the game, with Sheila Fernanda Cano (2-for-4) and Summer Sanders (2-for-3) leading the way with two each. Bobbi Arce, Elizabeth Sigala, Brianna Burries and Guadalupe Lemus also had hits in the game.
The Tigers and Hornets continue the series on Thursday at 3 p.m. at Fullerton, before concluding the series in Riverside on Friday at 2 p.m.
