Riverside City College struck first but couldn't hold on in a 4-3 loss on the road at No. 10-ranked Orange Coast College Thursday afternoon.
The Tigers slip to 7-18 overall, 1-7 in the Orange Empire. The Pirates improve to 15-2 on the year and remain undefeated in conference with their 11th win in a row.
Bobbi Arce led the Tigers with a 2-for-4 showing at the plate, while Rebeca Razo went 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Summer Sanders also had a hit for Riverside.
Chloe Lockhart struck out five batters in the circle for the Tigers.
Riverside and OCC close out the three-game series back in Riverside on Friday, with first pitch set for 2 p.m.
