Women's Track & Field Hauls in OEC Title

The Riverside City College women's track and field programs runs the Orange Empire Conference (OEC); no pun intended. The Tigers earned the conference title by routing the competition leading to 276 total points and the top spot.

It is the team's second title in the past three seasons after being shut down due to the COVID shutdown. Orange Coast placed second overall with 185 points to edge out Saddleback who accumulated 108 total points.

Alejandra Rosales was dominant in the throws events as she placed first in the Hammer (138' 6"), Shot Put (42' 1 ¼") and Discus (136' 9"). She was named the OEC Female Thrower of the Year. Rylee Blanton earned the bronze medal in the Hammer (136' 8")

Zoe Ewell blazed the track for a first-place mark in the 100 M (12.19) followed by a first-place clip in the 200 M (25.01).

Freshman Dakota Zamarripa snapped the tape in the 3000 M Steeplechase (12:54.47). She placed third in the 5000 M (21:16.09) as well.

The relays boded well for Riverside with Miller, Ewell, Quezada and De Leon placing first in the 1600 M Relay (4:03.77).

Elani Huntley placed second in the 1500 M (4:48.36) acting as one of only two times under the five-minute mark. She followed with her second silver medal showing coming in the 5000 M (20:54.84).

Lilani Quezada crossed the finish line first in the 400 M (59.53) for the only sub minute mark, while Briana Miler placed second (1:00.20).
