Several Tigers Grab Wins at Mt. SAC Relays

Riverside City College competed at the Mt. San Antonio College Relays Saturday and saw several victories in its last event before postseason.

Tiana Burgess won the 100-meter hurdles after clocking in at 14.91 seconds and helped the Tigers' 4x100 relay team win with a time of 49.09 seconds.

Cierra Ellis won the 400 meters with a time of 57.59 seconds, while Briana Miller took fourth (1:00.24) and Aiyana Allen-Jefferson grabbed fifth (1:00.91).

Isabelle Campos won the discus with a toss of 43.86 meters, while Esra Mor grabbed third (37.74 meters) and Alma Franco finished fourth (36.77 meters).

Campos and Rylee Blanton went three and four in the hammer throw, with Campos posting a throw of 44.91 meters and Blanton finishing at 43.17 meters. Mor won her flight with a toss of 38.40 meters and Alma Franco was right behind her at 35.90 meters.

Franco took fifth overall in the shot put (10.62 meters), while Miracle Crawford wasn't far behind in seventh (10.17 meters).

Campos also grabbed fourth in the javelin with a throw of 25.15 meters.

Burgess finished second in the triple jump at 11.35 meters, while Michelle Palacios Alvidrez was right behind in third at 10.20 meters. Joace Warrior took third in the high jump after clearing 1.40 meters.

Warrior also took fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.37 meters, while Burgess grabbed sixth (5.04 meters) and Palacios Alvidrez finished seventh (4.82 meters).

Lavaki and Ellis were .04 seconds apart from each other in the 200-meter dash, with Lavaki posting a time of 25.49 seconds and Ellis coming in at 25.43 seconds.

Citlaly Ruiz grabbed a sixth-place finish in the 3K steeplechase, clocking in at 13:09.11.

Dakota Zamarripa (5:08.52) and Lidia Barrios (5:12.87) came one after the other in the 1500-meter race, with Zamparripa just edging out her teammate.

Jolene Lavaki finished third in the 100-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 12.34 seconds.

Kasey Plumb took fifth in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:24.74 and Kiana Ikeda finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:09.16). Nadia Munoz (18:28.88) grabbed third in the 5K, while Savannah Ganter took fourth (19:22.54).

The Tigers shift their focus to the postseason with the Orange Empire Conference Prelims next Friday at RCC.
