Merced
Riverside City College opened its host tournament with a dominating 17-4 victory over Merced College, but ultimately fell 14-4 in the nightcap against No. 5-ranked Orange Coast College.
Luke Bills led the Tigers with six goals in the first game against Merced. Colby Martin and Lennon Franklin each chipped in three goals, while Jack Armstrong and Jace Johnson each added a pair of goals. Davis DeAnda also had a goal in the blowout victory.
Adrian Thompson had seven saves in the cage, while Leonardo Davis added another four.
In the second game of the day, Riverside saw OCC for the second time in just two days but couldn't keep pace with the Pirates.
Martin, Nathan Ferguson, Jace Johnson and Bills each scored for RCC in the defeat.
The Tigers look to bounce back on Saturday at 3 p.m. as they take on LA Valley.
