
Tigers Win RCC Invitational Over Four-Year Schools
Riverside City College hosted the RCC Invitational Friday and won the event, beating out several four-year programs.
The Tigers posted 204 team points, beating out UC San Diego (147) and Cal Poly Pomona (98).
Kailil O'Brien got things started with a first-place finish in the 3000 steeplechase, finishing in nine minutes, 53.38 seconds. Leo Valencia followed in second at 10:16.93, while Joshua West took third in 10:32.04.
The men's 4x100 relay team won with a time of 41.39 seconds, while the 4x400 relay team took second in 3:17.55.
Isaiah Butler won the discus competition with a toss of 49.41 meters, while Adam Torres took second in the hammer throw with a mark of 50.21 meters.
Marcellus Linton grabbed second in the 200-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 21.41 seconds, just .08 off first place.
Bryson Williamson finished second in the high jump with a mark of 1.95 meters, while Kendrick Bracy followed in third with a 1.85-meter jump.
Xavier Harvey took second in the pole vault with a mark of 3.50 meters, while Jacob Knox had a similar mark in third.
Anthony McCullough took second in the javelin (47.07 meters), followed by James Henderson in third (44.47 meters).
Daniel Agbelusi took third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.35.
The Tigers head to the Ben Brown Invitational next weekend at Cal State Fullerton.
