Harvey Leads Tigers at SoCal Multis Championships

Riverside City College sent four men's athletes to the 3C2A SoCal Multis Regional Championship Tuesday and Wednesday, hosted by Cerritos College. It also served as the multis portion of the Orange Empire Conference Championship.

All four Tigers took the top-four spots for the OEC Championship to put RCC up 29 points before the rest of the OEC Championship meet, held later in April.

Xavier Harvey led the Tiger men with a runner-up finish in the decathlon, posting 6118 total points to secure his spot in the 3C2A State Championship. He took first in the long jump (6.61 meters) and discus (40.86 meters), along with a second-place finish in the shot put (11.25 meters) and third in the high jump (1.81 meters) and pole vault (3.90 meters).

Jack Slavin grabbed ninth with 5166 points – after taking first in the 1500-meter event with a time of four minutes, 36.10 seconds – while Levi Vela followed with 4870 points for 10th place. James Henderson rounded out the quartet in 13th place with 4714 points.
