Riverside City College saw its season come to an end Thursday after falling 9-2 to Long Beach City College and Cerritos College 4-3 in 11 innings at the 3C2A SoCal Super Regional.
The Tigers end the year with a 27-17 record, while the Vikings improve to 30-13 and the Falcons move to 35-8.
In the first game, RCC posted seven hits but could only send two runners home. Arturo Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with a home run and scored both runs for the Tigers.
After dropping the first game, Riverside needed to win the second game to stay alive and took the first lead with two runs in the seventh.
Rodriguez led the frame off with a single to left center and proceeded to steal second. Cerritos threatened to end the inning with two straight outs, but Logan Ortega doubled to send Rodriguez home before coming home on a Marcus Moyer base hit.
Unfortunately, the Falcons tied the game in the bottom of the ninth to force extra innings.
RCC took back the lead with an RBI single from Eddie Alfaro in the top of the 10th, but once again Cerritos evened it up in the bottom half of the inning before walking away with the victory in the bottom of the 11th.
Alfaro had three hits in the game as the Tigers outhit the Falcons 9-to-4. Rodriguez went 2-for-5, while Alex Gamez, Dane Lujan, Ortega, and Moyer also had hits in the game.
