Zheng, Chen Place in Top 10 at SoCal, Advance to State

Riverside City College saw both of its golfers finish in the top 10 at the SoCal Regional to advance to the 3C2A State Championship.

Ronny Zheng took second overall, finishing with a 141 (70-71) – just two strokes off first place. Vincent Chen followed with a 148 (75-73) after shaving two strokes off his first-round score to finish tied for sixth place.

The duo also grabbed All-SoCal honors with their top-10 placings.

Zheng and Chen will compete for the state championship May 12-13 at the Sandpiper Golf Club in Goleta, Calif., teeing off at 8 a.m. on both days.
