Tigers Host Sixth OEC Competition

Riverside City College hosted the sixth Orange Empire Conference competition of the year Monday morning at the Victoria Club.

Cypress College won the event with a 374, followed by the College of the Desert (381) and Cuyamaca College (385). Orange Coast College took fourth with a 391, while RCC was just two strokes behind in fifth (393). Mt. San Antonio College finished sixth with a 395, and Victor Valley followed with a 399 for seventh. Mt. San Jacinto College (409) and El Camino College (421) rounded out the eighth and ninth spots.

All six Riverside golfers carded an 83 or better, with Carson Escobedo leading the Tigers with a two-over 74. Caden Rossi and Rigo Navarro followed with 79s on the day, while Elijah Gonzales was fourth on the team with an 80. Brayden Gilpin rounded out the scorers with an 81, while Blake Richert carded an 83 for RCC's drop score.

The Tigers turn right around and head to the El Prado Golf Course on Wednesday for Mt. SAC's home event, which is set to tee off at 10 a.m.
