RCC Takes Fifth at OEC #3

Riverside City College shaved nine strokes off its team score to move up to fifth place on Wednesday at the Soboba Springs CC. The Tigers finished with a 395, just three strokes off a top-three placing.

It was a rough time for the whole field as no one shot under a 74 on the course. Orange Coast College won the event with a 383, while Mt. San Antonio College took second at 388 and Cypress College posted a 392.

Rigo Navarro and Carson Escobedo each carded 76's – the best score by a Tiger so far this season. Elijah Gonzalez followed with a 78, while Braden Gilpen posted an 80. Tray Al-Shurafa rounded out the scorers with an 85, while Blake Richert finished with a drop score total of 88.

The Tigers continue OEC action next Wednesday at the Costa Mesa CC.
