
Tigers Host Riverside Invitational Against Tough Opponents
Riverside City College hosted its first event of the season Monday and finished 14th overall with a 426 team score.
Santa Barbara won the 16-team event with a 378, while Ventura was one stroke behind at 379. All nine Orange Empire Conference teams competed in the invite at Victoria Club, with the College of the Desert leading the OEC group with a fourth-place finish at 381.
The Tigers had a rough outing with only one shooting under 80. Carson Escobedo led RCC with a 79, while Rigo Navarro followed with an 84 and Tray Alshurafa carded an 86. Brayden Gilpin posted an 87 and Elijah Gonzalez rounded out the scorers with a 90. Masen Hernaez was the Tigers' drop score at 94.
Riverside opens Orange Empire Conference action on Wednesday at the Alondra Golf Course, hosted by El Camino College.
