Men’s Golf Places Second Overall in Conference Showdown
The Riverside City College men's golf team participated in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Neutral Match on Wednesday afternoon. Riverside placed second overall by carding an overall score of 387 that featured three scores in the 70s.
Riverside currently sits second overall in the OEC – Inland standings with an overall record of 28-6. College of the Desert remains in first place (29-5), while Mt. San Antonio (17-17) sits in third place.
The Tigers were the highest-finishing Inland squad in the OEC – Neutral this Wednesday with sophomore Kyle Hartford and freshman Ryan Osorio leading the way with five over par scores at 77.
Hartford shined on the front nine by etching one bird, but notched two bogeys. He saved his round with a birdie on the 16th hole, then closed out his round with a pair of pars.
Osorio had a consistent round despite shooting over on both sides. He closed his round out with a birdie on 18 to end on a high note.
Sophomore Bingcheng Zheng finished with a 79 had an up and down round with his success highlighted on the back nine. Despite carding a double bogie and three bogies on the front nine, he shaved his score down with four birdies on the back nine.
Freshman Vincent Chen shot an 81, while freshman Cameron Hartling rounded out the finishers with an 85.
