Bio

CJ Alumbres enters his first season as the jumps coach fo rhte track & field program. 

Alumbres grew up in Groton, Connecticut and went to Fitch High School. He won the class L state championship title in the triple jump as a freshman.

H moved Murrieta, California after one year at Fitch and attended Vista Murrieta High School. He currently holds the school record in the triple jump at Vista Murrieta with a jump of 50’1.25”, won back to back CIF titles in the triple jump in 2014 and 2015. He helped the Broncos win their first track and field state championship title in 2015.

He graduated from UCLA in spring 2019 with a undergraduate degree in sociology. He was a triple and long jumper for the Bruins; has a best of 23’3.25” in the long jump and 51’5” in the triple jump. He was the triple jump runner-up in the 2018 PAC-12 Championships. Currently, Alumbres is pursuing an M.A. in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine.
