Bio
CJ Alumbres enters his fifth season as the jumps coach for the track & field program.
The Groton, Conn. native, attended Fitch High School for one year, where he won the Class L State Championship in the triple jump as a freshman. Alumbres and his family moved to Murrieta, Calif., where he attended Vista Murrieta High School. He currently holds the school record in the triple jump at Vista Murrieta with a jump of 50’1.25”, won back-to-back CIF titles in the triple jump in 2014 and 2015. He helped the Broncos win their first track and field state championship title in 2015.
Alumbres graduated from UCLA in the spring of 2019 with an undergraduate degree in sociology. He was a triple and long jumper for the Bruins and has a best of 23’3.25” in the long jump and 51’5” in the triple jump. He was the triple jump runner-up in the 2018 PAC-12 Championships. Alumbres also has an M.A. in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine.
