Women’s Cross Country Earns Top Spot at Golden West Invitational, Huntley Lands on Podium

The Riverside City College women's cross country team competed at the Golden West College Invitational on Friday morning against fellow two-year competitors. The Tigers placed first overall highlighted by a podium finish compliments of sophomore leader Elani Huntley.

Huntley landed in third place to pace the Tigers for her first medal of the season. She clocked in a time of 20:11.80, which finished two second before the fourth-place finisher.

Freshman Dakota Zamarripa continued to perform well for the Tigers after placing 10th overall with a mark of 21:47.23. Sophomore Dakota Hirst rounded out the top-20 finishers for the Tigers as she came in at a time of 23:17.91 to earn her 18th overall.

Freshman Adileni Pacheco finished just outside of the top-20, but snuck into the top-25 with a time of 24:17.69 to earn her 23rd place. Freshman Gabriella Avila closed out the top-25 and the top finishers for the Tigers with a time of 24:20.96.
