Cross Country Challenges Division I, II, & III Teams

The Riverside City college cross country program hit the trails in the Titans Invitational hosted by CSU Fullerton this past Friday. Both sides saw great performances while defeating a handful of Division I competitors. The men placed third overall, while the women finished sixth overall.

The men defeated numerous Division I teams consisting of CSU Fullerton, Loyola Marymount and more. Additionally, they placed four Tigers in the top-30.

Sophomore Enrique Villa paced the pack as he has done in every race he has participated. He finished with a time of 24:52.04 placing him eight overall. Sophomore Austin Dai was second on the team and 26th overall with a mark reading 25:56.72. He finished consecutively with freshman tandem Tyler Graves (26:02.26) and Darvale Jackson (26:02.33), respectfully.

The women placed best amongst the community college field along with defeating a handful of Division I, II, and III teams. Sophomore Sujey Esteva recorded the strongest mark at 19:25.98, while freshman Aliy Camacho finished shortly behind in 46th place with a clip of 19:42.83.

Riverside will host the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Championships this Friday, October 26 beginning at 9 a.m.
