Cross Country Competes in the SoCal Preview

The Riverside City College cross country program hit the trails at the Cerritos Regional Park in the Southern California Preview on Friday afternoon.  The Tigers endured stiff competition on the course with the men placing fourth overall and the women placing eight overall.

The men finished slightly behind Glendale to earn fourth place. They recorded an average mile time of 5:13.

Sophomore Enrique Villa was the top finisher for the Tigers as he has been for the entire season so far. He earned a time of 20:19.8 which was a small margin behind the sixth-place finisher. Sophomore Austin Dai was right on his coat tails by placing eighth overall with at time of 20:22.5.

Freshman Tyler Graves finished third for the Tigers and 31st overall with a final time of 21:05.7, while sophomore Julian Robles followed in 38th place with a clip of 21:10.7.

The women placed eighth overall after being edged by Orange Empire Conference (OEC) foe Orange Coast. Freshman Aily Camacho squeaked into the top-25 with a 24th place finish. She completed her trot with a time of 19:45.1. Freshman Ariel Martinez followed with a mark of 19:58.0 to earn herself 27th place.

Riverside continues action on Friday, September 21 at the Golden West Invitational in Huntington Beach, CA.
