Riverside City College had to battle Wednesday night but fell to Irvine Valley College in five sets (25-18, 19-25, 21-25, 25-20, 15-11).
The Tigers slip to 13-6 overall and 7-2 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Lasers improve to 5-12 on the year, 5-4 in conference.
Kilyn Hayes led Riverside with 18 kills, while Jaeda Whitmire had 14 kills. Alyssa Bishop finished with 37 assists and led the Tigers with 17 digs.
The Tigers look to bounce back on the road and head to Fullerton College on Friday for a 6 p.m. contest.
