WALNUT - After taking the first set, the Riverside City couldn't hold off host Mt. San Antonio on Friday night, falling in four sets (27-25, 25-27, 21-25, 15-25).
The first set was back and forth but the Tigers were hottest at the end, with a kill by Kilyn Hayes and then a block by Jaeda Whitmire and Harmony Kniss clinched the 27-25 win.
Mt. SAC stole the second set, 27-25, and that was enough momentum to carry them to the win, taking the third set 25-21 and the deciding set 25-15.
Hayes led the Tigers with 15 kills on the night. Whitmire was second on the kills list with eight. Alexcy Juarez had 18 assists while Alyssa Bishop added 16 assists in the loss.
RCC will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 18 when they host Desert.
