RCC Qualifies Two Individuals and Three Doubles for 3C2A Championship

Results

Riverside City College saw two singles and three doubles teams qualify for the 3C2A State Championship at the Orange Empire Conference, hosted by Fullerton College, on Thursday.

Janine Kremling and Jordyn Sundberg qualified individually, while the teams of Kremling/Denise Campbell, Madison Reynoso/Sundberg, and Julianna Capraro/Caroline Cocker also earned their spots.

After a first-round bye, Kremling dominated her singles qualifying match 6-0, 6-0 to secure her spot in Ojai, Calif. Sundberg also had a first-round bye and won her second round in two sets as well (6-1, 6-1).

In doubles action, Kremling/Campbell and Sundberg/Reynoso had already earned the ticket to Ojai, while Capraro/Cocker took on a team from Fullerton and grabbed a dominating 8-0 victory.

The Tigers find out who and where they will play for the first round of the SoCal Regional on Sunday. The first round is set for Tuesday, while the 3C2A State Championship in Ojai will take place at the end of the month.
