All Tigers Advance to Second Day of 3C2A State Championship

Riverside City College saw both singles players and all three doubles teams move on to the second day of the 3C2A State Championship Tournament on Thursday.

After first-round byes, Janine Kremling and Jordyn Sundberg each won their first matches to advance to the Round of 32. Kremling dominated a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Santa Monica College's Sophie de Muelenaere, while Sundberg defeated Betty Gezahegne from San Diego City College 6-4, 6-2.

In doubles action, all three Tiger teams grabbed first-round byes before winning their first match. Sundberg and Madison Reynoso grabbed a 6-4, 6-0 win to advance in the tournament, while Kremling and Denise Campbell dominated their match 6-1, 6-0. Julianna Capraro and Caroline Cocker also picked up a lopsided win, 6-1, 6-2.

Riverside resumes the tournament on Friday with singles action beginning at 8 a.m. The Round of 16 will also take place Friday, with winners advancing to Saturday's quarterfinals.
