O'Brien Leads Tigers at John Elders Invitational

In its last meet before the postseason, Riverside City College took second at the John Elders Titan Invitational but was the top collegiate team.

The Tigers grabbed 63 points as a team, five points ahead of fellow Orange Empire Conference member Orange Coast College. Valor Track Club won the race with 20 team points.

Kailil O'Brien led RCC with a top-10 finish, taking eighth overall with a time of 24 minutes, 57.4 seconds.

Anthony Ruiz was the second Tiger to cross the finish line, posting a time of 25:08.2, while Martin Torres-Sandoval finished in 25:50.6.

Daniel Nava clocked in at 26:04.1, while Jorge Guillen (26:11.1) and Joshua West (26:12.6) came in one right after the other.

The Tigers shift their attention to the postseason, heading to the OEC Championship on Friday, Nov. 1 at 3:30 p.m., where they are looking to grab their 10th conference title in 11 years.
