
O'Brien, Ruiz lead Tigers at Manny Bautista Invite
Riverside City College took fifth overall at the Manny Bautista Invite on Friday, hosted by San Diego Mesa College.
Kalil O'Brien and Anthony Ruiz came in back-to-back to lead the Tigers, with O'Brien taking 17th in 20 minutes, 54.99 seconds. Ruiz followed in 18th place with a time of 20:56.13.
Martin Torres-Sandoval was the Tigers' third finisher, crossing the finish line in 21:09.19, followed by Daniel Nava in 21:28.19. Jorge Guillen rounded out the top five for RCC with a time of 21:35.15.
In the overflow race, Joshua West led the Tigers with a seventh-place finish in 22:11.98. Nathan Luce also finished in the top 10 at 22:15.03 to take 10th, while Diego Tierrafria was just on the cusp with a time of 22:15.42 (11th).
Riverside has one more meet before postseason begins in November, heading to the John Elders Titan Invite, hosted by Cal State Fullerton, on Oct. 25 at 5 p.m.
