Tiger Men Fourth at Biola Invite
FULLERTON - Following a schedule change earlier this week, the Riverside City College Tigers headed to Fullerton for the Biola Invitational, putting forth two strong performances.
On the men's side, the Tigers finished fourth among 13 teams. finishing ahead of several four-year schools. Martin-Torres Sandoval led the Tigers with a 46th-place finish, covering the 8K course in 26:20.2. Edward Garcia was just two-tenths of a second behind, taking 47th in a time of 26:20.4. Damian Spralls took 49th in a time of 26:21.5 and Luke Catherwood was 50th in a time of 26:21.7. Anthony Ruiz was a second behind of them, finishing 52nd in a time of 26:22.7. Jorge Guillen (77th, 27:15.4) and Nathan Luce (79th, 27:20.1) finished up the scored for RCC.
In the women's 5K, Nadia Munoz led the Tigers with a time of 18:40.3 to finish 27th overall. Citaly Ruiz was the next RCC runner across the line, taking 61st in a time of 19:58.4 with Celest Mendoza not far behind, taking 66th with a time of 20:09.8. Audianna Salgado finished 77th with a time of 20:41.5, Isabella Chavez was 100th in a time of 22:10.7 and Evelyn Reyes was 104th with a time of 22:38.0. Savanna Martin finished the scoring with a time of 22:51.7 to finish 108th.
Riverside is next in action next acFriday, racing at the Golden West Invitational.
