
Riverside Grabs Fourth at SoCal Preview
Riverside City College took fourth as a team at the SoCal Preview Meet, hosted by Chaffey College on Friday. The Tigers posted 115 points, which was less than 10 points from first place.
Kalil O'Brien led RCC with an 11th-place finish, crossing the finish line in 21 minutes, 36.6 seconds. Anthony Ruiz wasn't far behind, taking 13th in 21:48.2, while Daniel Nava also grabbed a top-20 finish with a time of 21:58.7 (19th).
Jorge Guillen clocked in at 22:17.6 and Luke Catherwood finished in 22:35.0 to round out the top five runners for the Tigers.
With the size of the meet, there was an overflow race as well, where Dyeem Tolbert took seventh with a time of 23:30.5. Nathan Luce followed in 23:39.6 and Diego Tierrafria was right behind in 23:46.4.
The Tigers return to Chaffey on Nov. 8 for the SoCal Championship, but head to the Manny Bautista Invitational next. RCC races at 10 a.m. on Oct. 11 at the Naval Training Center Park, Liberty Station.
