Riverside Snags Third Straight Win

The Riverside City College women's tennis team is off to a hot start this season after winning its first two match of the season. The Tigers continued that trend in the upward direction after defeating Grossmont, 6-3, while leaning heavily on the bottom of their roster.

RCC's four through six players cruised today as each of them did not drop a single set. Sophomore Hailey Dunkel anchored the squad with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the sixth position, while linking up with freshman Christa McDowell at the third double position for an 8-1 win.

McDowell cleaned up at the fifth position leading to a 6-4, 6-1 win, while freshman Monica Carrillo earned a 6-0, 6-0 win.

Carrillo pocketed a double win with strong help from sophomore Adrielle Fotchi at the final score of 8-1, while Fotchi went on to pocket a 6-2, 6-1 win as the fourth singles player.

Sophomore Susana Iniguez battled in a three set loss, while top singles player freshman Kaden Richards fell in two. The two teamed up for the top doubles squad and fell 8-3.
