Women’s Tennis Earns ITA All-Academic Team Status, Four Student-Athletes Deemed Scholar Athletes

After a strong season in which the Riverside City College women's tennis team earned an overall record of 17-3 and reached the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern Regional Finals, the Tigers continue to rake in nationwide awards.

The Tigers were recognized as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic team while four student-athletes reeled in All-Academic Scholar Athlete laurels. Freshman Maxelle Bernie, freshman Miranda Cardenas, freshman Torrey Mateljan and freshman Hannah Stevenson make up the quartet of honorees.

All-Academic teams boast a team grade-point-average of 3.2 or higher. ITA scholar-athletes must qualify as a varsity letter winner, have a GPA of at least 3.5 for the academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
