Riverside City College dominated its first quarter of action at El Camino College Monday night and never looked back en route to a 61-39 victory.
The Tigers improve to 8-5 overall, while the Warriors slip to 0-10 on the year.
Talia Washington led the Tigers with 19 points (9-for-17), while Nave'ah Pina followed with 15 points (6-for-14) and N'Dya Parks added 10 points (3-for-6).
RCC wasted little time and scored on its first possession of the night after Pina drained a three-pointer off an Ariel Perkins assist. It sparked a quick 7-0 run as the Tigers forced the Warriors to turn the ball over on their first two possessions. RCC drew 32 turnovers from ECC, which led to 23 points for the Tigers.
El Camino scored just four points in the first quarter as Riverside jumped out to a 26-4 lead at the first break. The Tigers turned it into a 39-13 upper hand at halftime and grabbed their largest lead of the night just two minutes into the third, 47-13, off a Pina putback.
Riverside looks to build on momentum as it continues the ECC Christmas Crossover on Tuesday, taking on Santa Barbara City College at 4 p.m. back at El Camino.
