Riverside City College opened the We Are MC Invitational, hosted by Moorpark College, with a 70-56 victory over Pasadena City College.
The Tigers improve to 2-0 on the young year, while the Lancers drop to 1-2 overall.
N'Dya Parks was on fire, leading the Tigers with 31 points on 10-of-16 shooting. She also grabbed 15 rebounds for a double-double.
Nave'ah Pina and Ariel Perkins each chipped in 10 points and five assists in the win.
Despite the Lancers scoring first, the Tigers responded with a 9-0 run to jump out in front 9-3 and never looked back to hold onto their second win of the year.
Riverside continues the invite, taking on San Jose on Friday at 4 p.m.
