Tigers Earn Bronze at SoCal Regional, Condit Places Seventh Overall

The Riverside City College men's cross country team hit the road for yet another trip to the California Community College Athletics Association (CCCAA) Southern Regional Championships on Friday. The Tigers looked to qualify for the state championships and did just that after placing third overall.

The Tigers were the highest finishing OEC squad by a long shot, but finished behind San Diego Mesa and Mt. San Antonio, respectfully. Their third place finish punches their ticket to the state meet and they will look to compete for their first title since 2016.

Leading the charge was sophomore anchor Gavyn Condit who earned his eighth-consecutive top-10 finish. He paced the Tigers with an overall mark of 20:01.99 after snapping the tape at the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Championships the week prior.

Sophomore Raen Reyes regained the second position for the Tigers and placed 11th overall with a mark of 20:09.27. Sophomore Kyle Reden followed and rounded out the top-15 with a time of 20:16.50.

Riverside was scattered about the top-35 as sophomore Vincent Navarro snuck into the top-25 with a time of 20:29.15 to earn him 23rd overall. Sophomore David Rush finished in 26th place with a clip reading 20:33.81, while freshman Ernesto Cruz rounded out the pack with a 35th place finish at a time of 20:45.87.

The Tigers will compete in the CCCAA State Championship on Saturday, November 19 at Woodward Park in Fresno, CA.
