
RCC Takes Second at OEC Championships
Riverside City College finished runner-up at the Orange Empire Conference Championship, posting 896 team points, just 48 points behind champion Orange Coast College.
The Tigers went 1-2-3 in the 200-yard butterfly, led by Nicole Robertson with a time of 2:22.59. Isadora Taylor wasn't far behind in second place with a time of 2:24.43, while Michelle Manookian took third in 2:28.40.
Taylor got things going for the Tigers with a second-place finish in the 1650-yard free, touching the wall in 19:30.68. Lily Helberg took fifth in 21:10.02, while Isabella Orozco finished in sixth in 21:34.84.
Keira Casey took second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:22.41, while Savanna Ettinger finished fourth with a time of 2:26.28.
Samantha Thomas grabbed second in the 100-yard free, clocking in at 55.28 seconds. Audra Lacey took fourth in 57.58 seconds.
Kaia Boone posted a time of 2:36.05 to finish runner-up in the 200-yard breaststroke, while Presley Burrell finished fourth in 2:41.87 and Brianna Bandoc took sixth in 2:46.39.
Sofia Mather finished in fourth in the 100-yard individual medley, clocking in at 1:12.88, followed by Bandoc in 1:08.65.
RCC's 400-yard free relay team of Lacey, Boone, Manookian, and Thomas took second with a time of 3:50.03.
Riverside heads to the 3C2A State Championship May 1-3 at Santa Rosa Junior College.
