
Tigers Win Home OEC Event
Riverside City College grabbed its second-straight Orange Empire Conference meet win on Friday, finishing with 805 team points.
Orange Coast College followed in second with 726.5 points, while the rest of the competition wasn't close: Golden West (221 points), Cypress College (151 points), Saddleback College (143.5 points), Fullerton College (121 points).
Isadora Taylor and Nicole Robertson finished one and two in the 400-yard individual medley, with Taylor posting a time of five minutes, 4.32 seconds. Robertson followed in 5:06.61.
Taylor also took second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:29.29, while Michelle Manookian took third in 2:35.10.
The Tigers swept the 200-yard free with Yosra Elseifi (2:07.74) leading four Tigers at the top. Savanna Ettinger followed in second with a time of 2:11.77, while Clare Baty and Samantha Thomas rounded out the top four with respective times of 2:12.77 and 2:12.93.
Off the diving board, Emily Parker won the 1-meter with a score of 151.65 – almost 30 points higher than the next diver. She also won the 3-meter after posting a score of 164.65.
Kaia Boone took second in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:27.84, followed by Elseifi in 2:30.16 in third and Michelle Manookian in fourth at 2:35.91. Boone also grabbed a runner-up finish in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:14.64) and in the 100-yard IM (1:07.66).
Audra Lacey finished runner-up in the 500-yard free, clocking in at 5:52.72. Ava Brown grabbed fourth in 6:01.48. Lacey also took third in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:14.58.
Keira Casey took second in the 200-yard back with a time of 2:24.44, while Robertson wasn't far behind in 2:29.49 for third.
Presley Burrell grabbed second in the 100-yard free after clocking in at 56.54 seconds, while Lily Helberg took fourth in 1:02.65.
Kiersten Maag finished third in the 200-yard breast with a time of 2:48.81, while Brianna Bandoc was on her tail in fourth at 2:51.34.
Thomas finished in the top five in the 50-yard free, touching the wall in 26.52 seconds to take fourth.
The Tiger 400-yard free 'A' relay team (Elseifi, Presley Burrell, Ettinger, Thomas) took second with a time of 3:57.67, while the 'B' team (Lacey, Baty, Lily Helberg, Keira Casey) was right on its tail in 4:03.85 for third.
RCC's 400-yard medley relay team. (Robertson, Boone, Taylor, Thomas) also took second, finishing in 4:23.21.
Riverside remains at home to host the RCC Invitational on April 4 before shifting gears into the postseason.
