
Tigers Have Strong Performances at Day Two of OEC Championship
Riverside City College kept pace on the second day of the Orange Empire Conference Championship Friday.
The Tigers still sit in second with 564 points, while Orange Coast College is holding onto first place with 661 team points.
Isadora Taylor led three Tigers in the top four of the 400-yard individual medley after she took second in 4:54.95. Nicole Robertson followed in third at 4:57.83, while Yosra Elseifi finished in fourth in 5:05.76.
Michelle Manookian grabbed second in the 100-yard butterfly, touching the wall in 1:05.20.
Savanna Ettinger took second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:05.51, while Keira Casey grabbed fourth in 1:07.14.
Elseifi also took third in the 200-yard free with a time of 2:02.80, followed by Samantha Thomas in fourth (2:05.65) and Clare Baty in sixth (2:09.41).
Kaia Boone led a group of Tigers in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 1:11.28 to take third. Presley Burrell finished in fourth in 1:12.25, while Kiersten Maag took fifth in 1:15.61.
RCC won the 800-yard free relay after clocking in at 8:16.61, while the Tigers took second in the 200-yard medley relay, just five seconds behind first place with a time of 1:52.56.
The Tigers close out the OEC Championship on Saturday with the day's prelims starting at 9:30 a.m. back at Orange Coast College.
