
Multiple Tigers Win Championships in First Two Days of OEC Championship Meet
Riverside City College has already found success on the first two days of the Orange Empire Conference Swim and Dive Championships. The Tigers currently sit in second place with 467 points heading into the final day of championships on Saturday.
Jessie Nelson won the 200-yard individual medley by four seconds, clocking in at two minutes, 12.53 seconds. She followed it up with a first-place finish in the 400-yard IM, beating her competition by almost 20 seconds (4:46.08). Nicole Robertson took second in the 400 IM with a time of 5:03.72.
Annabella Storar won the 200-yard free after touching in 2:00.94, while Jaeden Johnson grabbed third in 2:06.18 and Samantha Thomas took fourth in 2:06.70. Storar also finished second in the 500-yard free, touching the wall in 5:20.39, while Johnson took fourth in 5:35.24.
Thomas finished third in the 50-yard free with a time of 25.81 seconds. Kirsten Maag posted the fourth-best time in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:14.31), while Nicole Robertson grabbed fifth in the 100-yard back (1:04.78).
Riverside's 800-yard free relay team (Storar, Thomas, Johnson, Nelson) won the event in 8:17.67.
RCC's 200-yard free relay team (Abigail Ruiz, Nelson, Storar, Thomas) took second with a time of 1:46.03. The Tigers 400-yard medley relay team (Robertson, Nelson, Storar, Thomas) finished third with a time of 4:17.07.
