Bio

In the 2015-16 academic season, Nikki Bonzoumet begins her seventeenth year as the Riverside City College (RCC) head women's tennis coach after a successful high school and collegiate tennis career.

A graduate of La Sierra High School in Riverside, Bonzoumet was a high school league champion her sophomore year and then was runner-up her junior and senior seasons. She went on to attend, Riverside City College and eventually earned a scholarship to Northern Arizona University.

During her playing days as a Tiger, she was ranked as high as No. 27 in the state in singles. That season she helped Riverside to a 19-1 record and the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Championship. In her sophomore season, she earned all-OEC honors with her doubles partner (Michelle Mateljan).

As a coach, she has compiled a 193-78-1 (.712) overall record, 109-52 (.677) in OEC matches, winning three conference championships (2000, 2012, 2014). She has taken eight teams to the regional playoffs.

She has coached three individuals to conference titles - Anabel Sanchez, Caroline Houston and Alicia Brown (2002), a former assistant to the RCC men's and women's tennis teams. In 2002, Brown, under Bonzoumet's coaching, became the OEC Player of the Year as a freshman. In her sophomore season, Brown advanced to the quarterfinals of the state tournament after winning the conference singles title.
