Tigers Sweep OEC Postseason Honors

Riverside City College swept the postseason Orange Empire Conference awards after grabbing its second-straight OEC Championship.

Nikki Bonzoumet was named the Coach of the Year, while Janine Kremling and Denise Campbell grabbed Doubles Team of the Year. Kremling also earned Singles Player of the Year.

Bonzoumet led the Tigers to their second consecutive OEC Championship with a 5-1 conference mark. Heading into the postseason, RCC boasts a 10-3 overall record, with all but one win coming as a dominant 9-0 victory.

Kremling/Campbell made their debut as a pair in Riverside's first OEC match of the year and dropped the first game but been have dominant ever since and finished with a 4-1 conference record.

RCC also saw all three of its doubles teams earn All-OEC honors: Kremling/Campbell, Madison Reynoso/Jordyn Sundberg, and Julianna Capraro/Caroline Cocker.

Kremling also earned her spot in the 3C2A State Tournament as a singles player after grabbing the top seed in the OEC tournament. After a first-round bye, Kremling defeated Fullerton College's Zuniga 6-0, 6-0 to become an OEC qualifier for the second-straight year and earn all-conference honors.

Jordyn Sundberg also picked up all-conference honors after grabbing her spot at the state championship. The freshman entered the OEC tournament as the No. 3 seed, earning a first-round bye before defeating Fullerton's Koo 6-1, 6-1 to qualify as a singles player.
