Women’s Volleyball Drops Second-Straight Conference Match
The Riverside City College women's volleyball team hosted its second-consecutive Orange Empire Conference (OEC) showdown on Friday evening against the Golden West College Rustlers. The Tigers dropped three straight sets despite only being edged in the opening set by two points. The final set scores read 28-26, 25-18, and 25-14.
Freshman outside hitter Marcella Rodriguez (Belize City, Belize) paced the Tigers in kills with 12 to mark her sixth game in double-digit hammers this season. Her 10 digs were impressive as well, as she has recorded double-digit digs in six games this season. Freshman outside Kiara Oregon (Riverside, CA) hammered home seven kills to go along with 11 digs as well.
Setting tandem Taylor Gardner (Colton, CA) and Tessie Evalu (Wildomar, CA) handled the offensive rhythm as Gardner led the way with 12 assists backed by Evalu's 10. Freshman libero Natalie Escher (Redlands, CA) patrolled the backline for seven digs.
The Tigers (6-6, 1-3 OEC) will continue play on Wednesday, October 4th as they take on the Cypress College Chargers on the road at 6 p.m.
